Council tax rebate

Has anyone not had their council tax rebate yet?

Check your council website. Mine had a grid of DD dates and then when the payment would come in for each. Saved me wondering and it did come in on the date they said.

I work for a council. It has been a logistical nightmare. Govt expects small local authorities with severe budget issues to just be able to drop everything to make a one off payment. We had to make 33,000 payments which represented 65% of the tax base. We normally make 500 payments a week. Blame the govt not local authorities

Yeah I did this. Noted the date it should come in. Needless to say it hasn't. No surprise there.

They have until 30 Sept to pay it apparently. How can that be helpful for people? I had made a payment promise to British Gas on the basis i would have had it by now and I am going to have to borrow the money instead.

Update today on the council's website:

The software to deliver the £150 council tax rebate is currently being tested and payments will start in May.

Not yet but our council said it will be sometime in May.
