I could really use some advice from the benefit savy people on here please.
I am a lone parent of three year old twins. No contact with their dad. My only help I have is from my parents, both in their early seventies.
I started back to work PT in October 2021. I'm contracted for 18 hours a week in a Support worker role. However I am now really struggling balancing the unsociable working hours with caring for my twins. The majority of my shifts are 8am starts or 10pm finishes. I also have to sometimes do 14 hour shifts. DC are having to spend on average 2 nights a week at my parents house and it is starting to exhaust my parents (DF is not in the best of health)
The whole situation is unworkable and we are all getting pretty stressed about it. If I were to quit my role would I be sanctioned for doing so? I would fully intend to look for a more child friendly role and start working again ASAP. All I can see online regarding UC is you will be sanctioned for quitting a job.
Any advice greatly appreciated:)
