Where to move in London with a baby

We are working and enjoying our lives in central London. We are expecting a baby in early 2023 and our combined pre-tax income is ~£180k. We currently live in a 2-bed flat and thinking of buying a 3-bed flat or a house with 3+ bedrooms, preferably more than 1000 sqft.

We prefer a 3-bedroom flat in central London (zone 1-2) but also are worrying about its scalability since we plan to have two babies starting next 2-3 years.

However, we are also advised to look into freehold houses but most of them are in zone 3-5. I'm wondering whether there are any such areas with easy access to central London and close to good schools.

We are also concerned about its location in schools. However, given that our baby is going to secondary school in 10+ years, I'm not sure whether we should pay too much attention to this point or not.

Thanks for reading this and all opinions are much appreciated.

Brockley? You'd get a lovely house near Hilly Fields for that budget.

Wimbledon?

OP have you done any research at all? You’ll get a decent 5 bed terrace in Putney/Wandsworth for that.

Wimbledon. Check out South Wimbledon and Colliers Wood areas too.

What's your budget?
