About 6 weeks I used a different hairdressers OK a cheaper one like 55 quid cheaper for all over dye as I'm naturally dark and cover grey hair , suddenly lately my scalp has become itchy. It's not my shampoo etc but it didn't feel itchy until weeks later. My old hairdressers costs around 100 with cut and dye but never felt itchy scalp. This was around 6 weeks , you think they used q different dye on my hair at the cheaper one? I need to re do hair but thinking should just pay more now

You should always have a test. I became allergic to hair dye , the price of the dye is irrelevant.

Could be onset of reaction. I'm allergic to PPD and my 1st reaction started 2 weeks after doing my hair 3 weeks after a negative patch test. Id been dying my hair for years and then it suddenly started. I'm now also allergic to touline 2 5 diamine so I stick to semi permanent fun colours as they're ppd free.

You can develop sensitivity/a reaction to something which has previously caused you no issues at any time. You must have a patch test before you next have your hair coloured however much the salon you choose to go to charges. It's also possible the itching is caused my something else you are using, from the washing powder your bed linen is washed with to a shampoo, etc, etc.

That's just it. I always test and we did a test and was fine but the itchy scalp started later 😒

Could it be nits?

If it is the hair dye, I'd expect a reaction with the next patch test you have. Has something you use regularly changed its formula or have you used something else you weren't using before?
