Google Photos face recognition...

...is so creepy!

I had to provide a picture of myself recently (someone was making a leaving card for a mutual friend). I thought I would scroll through my Google photos to see if there was anything suitable there. I know that they are categorised by person, so I clicked a picture of myself and loads of photos of me came up (obviously).

What creeped me out was that there were photos of me as a baby (photos of old photos). There is one picture and I look about 10 months old. In another, it's my first day in primary school so I am about 4. I wouldn't expect anyone to be able to match my baby photos to what I look like now. I'm 40 this year and the software is so sophisticated that it can identify me from a photo taken 39 years ago when I was a baby.

I don't know why, but this made me feel really uncomfortable. Its too smart! What do you all think about face recognition technology?

It's not that good. Mine gets DS2 and DS3 confused all the time and has multiple versions of each of us. I amuse myself by giving them funny names.
