Anyone got/had a Jaguar F-pace?

We're looking to change our car and this has always been my dream, however I have 3 children and need to get 3 car seats across the back. Anyone who has had this car, is there any possibility of this do you think? Or should I forget this dream?

Honest John can tell you:

We had a 20 plate Fpace, so the older model, (not sure if the update is any different) but you wouldn’t have been able to get 3 car seats across the back seat. It feels quite small inside compared to how big it looks from the outside, although we did have a discovery as the car before which was huge. I didn’t rate the Fpace to drive. Very laggy on motorways when you put your foot down to over take. We
got the Velar after this which was nicer, but still don’t think you’d get 3 car seats across the back.

Test drove the F Pace a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t like it, was so disappointed as I thought I would love it. Found it a tractor compared to the BMW 5 series I have currently, also thought some of the interior finishings were cheap and didn’t like the digital display at all. There’s also a 12 month plus lead time at the moment, so bear that in mind if you’re looking for brand new.

I don’t think you would get 3 car seats in the back from the way it’s designed, 2 and a booster certainly. I’d phone the dealership and ask them. I found it didn’t feel that big inside. I know you can get 3 car seats in my BMW 530 if you’re not set on getting an SUV, all round it’s a better drive and car imho.

Thanks - that is what I thought might be the case. We have a big car just now so would probably feel small.

Thanks @WilsonMilson I'm not fussed for an SUV but DH likes them. We're planning on selling our Merc GLE and downgrading in price so may just end up with a Kia or similar.

Had an F Pace for 3 years, really not nice, comfortable seats is about the best thing I can say about this car, sluggish, bulky just not great have changed it for Nissan Qashqai

When the kids are bigger and don’t need car stead you’ll have much more choice! I had a Kia Sportage about 5 years ago and it was brilliant, but when our DC were very small the best car I had (and know it’s not in the same league as the Jaguar) was a Citroen Picasso. 3 full seats in the back and loads of kit on it for the price. It was a workhorse and took us all the way to the south of France, no issues and completely packed the the gills. My brother has just got rid of his big merc estate as they’ve had a 3rd child and needed more space for car seats and got a Picasso. He’s really pleased with it. May be the C5 Aircross would be the more up to date equivalent and has SUV styling? Might be worth a look.

Car seats aside, I don't know anyone who's had an F-pace and liked it. One friend had one from new and it was gone within six months.

HighInPolyunsaturates · 02/05/2022 09:20

Thanks - I might drag DH to see a picasso in person. The Peugeot 5008 gets a good write up too.

I think we should suck it up with small kids and have what he thinks is an 'uncool' car, but that actually fits what we need right now!

Our Mercedes is beautiful but it is very expensive and even a petrol hybrid costs so much to run. The £99 limit on pay at the pump only fills the tank two thirds...

Look at a Skoda Kodiaq, or an Enyaq, if you want an electric vehicle. The Kodiaq is spacious.

I have a Landrover Discovery (not the most recent model)
You would get 3 seats in the back.
Really love mine

Pyewhacket · 02/05/2022 13:15

Because of the ULEZ zone I have to replace my old Land Rover Defender so I test drove an F-Pace. I also drove the I-Pace. Fatal. I now have all the brouchers and nearly enough to get one. The question is which one. The F Pace is quite big, I've got three teens, but the I-Pace accelerates like a scolded cat - no pun intended. I know its a lot of money but I'm 43 next week so YOLO !!!!.

567and · 06/05/2022 14:43

@Pyewhacket we had an iPace last year (DH’s work car scheme means we get to use lots of cars!) and I loved it so much. It was just so luxurious to drive and be driven in. Seats were so comfy and it’s really head and shoulders better than the Fpace. He’s now deciding whether to get another iPace or go for the plug in hybrid velar (just to make longer summer journeys easier.) would really recommend the iPace.

It’s a JLR product so you know it’ll be an absolute heap of shit.

567and · 09/05/2022 18:40

We’ve had several JLR cars and none of them have been a heap of shit! 😂
