Why hasn't my lavender grown back?

It's just died despite me cutting it back last year.

Did you cut it back into the woody bit of the stem? You have to be a bit careful with lavender not to cut back too far.

How old was it? If you cut lavender back too hard into the old wood it doesn’t like it and won’t re shoot.

I lost two this year, I assume the weather or conditions weren't suitable somehow.

Mine didn't survive as I think they were planted in a part of the gardens hat gets too cold.
