Has anyone had an endometrial ablation (Novasure procedure)?

I had this procedure almost 4 weeks ago.
It went well.
I had some light/watery bleeding for a good week or so after (my period was due on the day of the procedure so not sure if the week long blood was that?), this then trailed off to a regular, watery orange/brown discharge, continuing ever since.
Today I have noticed that it has become more blood like. I am still tracking my period and would be due in the next few days.
I will monitor the blood and hope it doesn’t get any heavier as I am dreading the procedure failing and going back to the return of the horrendous heavy bleeding I normally get, really dreading it.
My friend had an ablation 5 years ago and hasn’t had one drop off blood since, so I am panicking mine has failed.
My follow up after the op is not until August.
Has anyone had this procedure? Did you have any bleeding or period after?

Hi, I had an endometrial ablation six weeks ago. I've just had a normal(ish) period and I'm clinging on to the hope that it doesn't mean its failed.

From what they said, I thought it could take a few months to settle down.

GetTheStartyParted I have just looked at some YouTube videos and several said they had a period for the first 2 months then nothing. Here’s hoping hey? 🤞

I had my ablation about 5 years ago. My periods were unbelievably heavy prior, my consultants had never seen anyone build so much thickening so quickly. My first two periods were like yours, but since then, I have had what I would class as normal periods, perfectly manageable when doing normal things like going out for work - which I couldn’t do at all before. I have carried on having similar periods monthly ever since the ablation, which for me is the result I was looking for.

Some women do have none at all, though, so you should probably give it a few more months to see what your final result will be.

FeathersMcGee Thank you, I will be happy to have ‘normal’ periods too, I am dreading it failing and going back to flooding.

I had a few heavy ones and then they sort of became what I think is more normal.

It won’t fail completely but may not get rid of 100%.

I had very light period for a few months.
