REALLY wide chunky sandals search

Hi - I have ridiculously wide feet (and they swell due to lymphedema)

Eee fit or Vans are my usual fit but I'd LOVE some trendy chunky sandals. I've been browsing Schuh but can't spot what would be wide enough.

Our local shopping centre is rubbish too.

Has anyone got any recommendations please? The summer is fast approaching!

Asos have a good wide fit range and there's a few chunky styles in at the mo. Not tried them yet but there's a couple by the brand Raid I'm eyeing up. Also Evans and Simply Be do eee but no idea if they have any stylish chunky ones on offer.

Birkenstocks?
I have extra holes punched in the straps for hot day foot expansion. I'm stupidly wide anyway.

I tend to go for the metalic shades that look reasonable so people don't realise I'm in children's shoes.

Most wide-fit comfortable sandals look really clumpy on my short-wide feet and there's a gap in the market between child and "granny gave in to the bunions".

@glebaisaword I'm always put off Asos because they don't have reviews but I'll have a look 🥰

Ooh - I have an old pair somewhere. Will dig them out. Thanks for the reminder 🤩

I'm after sandals with an ankle strap - trendy ones (even though I'm over 40!) this time

Friend wears Birkenstock metallic ones they look great

Ghostofborleyrectory · 30/04/2022 21:44

I love Buffalo sandals, trendy, chunky and velcro so you can widen them if you need to! They can vary in price so have a good search online- mine are wonderful

I got Evans sandals a couple of years ago, very comfy, quite cool with flower cut outs on them. They’re beige but I walked all day in them in Greece and had no issues, despite my feet swelling in the heat. I also bought the trendy black ones from there which killed my feet. Both are EEE, I have stupidly wide feet.

Cherrysoup · 30/04/2022 22:40

Try Pavers, too, but I don’t think they’re very trendy!

Josef Seibel Women's Rhodes Sandal www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B099NLB495/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_B3GPAJQXF6HHP1F80NF3 ART Dr Marten

all on the wider side IME

cattanoogacats · 30/04/2022 23:12

Have you tried Dr Marten's sandals? They're very chunky and some of them are quite wide fitting.

2isontheway · 30/04/2022 23:15

Evans, simply be, yours, next, new look.
I don't rate asos I don't think they're particularly wide x

coodawoodashooda · 30/04/2022 23:15

Pavers are amazing

JanglyBeads · 30/04/2022 23:19

Hotter EE?

JD Williams is a recent find, they do a really wide (!) range of widths right up to EEEEE in some styles. Amazing choice and prices too.

I have wide, awkward feet, and wear prescription orthotics, but in summer I love my Birkenstock Taorminas. Just wish they came in funkier colours.

Have you looked at Wider Fit shoes?
