10 yr old fever, sweating, headache - just a bug?

My DS aged 10 has been off school today, sleeping almost all day, vomited a little twice, complaining of stomach and headaches. Also has had a fever on and off (38.5 degrees). He's still sleeping now and is sweating, cold and clammy. Just a bug or should I be worried? He's usually healthy as a horse so I'm slightly unnerved as this is so unusual.

I would probably say a bug but keep an eye on them. If they are sleeping that will probably do them good. Do you have anything to reduce the fever when they wake up? I would say pamol and fluids or ice blocks if you have them. My DC is similar and rarely off colour but on the odd occasion they are I let them eat a little of anything they fancy just to get some calories into them. If the fever keeps rising I would call the GP or Healthline. Hope they feel better 🤞

Thanks @Melzbelz he's doing better today. It's clearly just a bug, I think Dr Google scared me a bit!

One of those 48 hour bugs probably, there's plenty of the going around atm.

Possibly covid but more likely a stomach bug.

Half my nephews nursery is down with what we all think is probably norovirus so he has the right arseache as he can't go in because his sister is immune suppressed.

Have you got a LFT? A positive can take a couple of days to show up, but my first symptoms were feeling hot, headache and then I felt sick.
