pimantle!

Just in case you didn't have enough to tax your brain on a daily basis Grin

No more 😭😭😭

Grin

Takes all morning, what with redactle as well!

I thought pimantle was my new favourite game until I discovered redactle

"I don't know the work "organise"."

Pftt, I'm out.

User12398712 · 29/04/2022 10:44

Or even the word organise!

WildCoasts · 29/04/2022 10:55

Saved to my games. I got it in 18.

Use American spellings.

Use American spellings.

That was my point, I don't want to use American spellings!

Other than that, I actually like the format, it's nice to see how the different trails of words follow on from each other and if you have boxed yourself into too narrow a category as is so easy to do on semantle.

BowerOfBramble · 29/04/2022 12:52

Oh a thread! Today’s was quite fun even though I went down a massive wrong alley.

BIWI · 30/04/2022 15:23

I got today's and yesterday's quite quickly. I think this game is a bit easier than semantle or cemantle. (And certainly than redactle!)

ErrolTheDragon · 30/04/2022 15:36

I’ve been working through the archive pimantles , but now there’s an MN thread I’d better start trying the daily ones. MN hints are so much better than the hint button.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/04/2022 15:56

I don't usually mind American spellings (I have to write documentation using them as standard so I'm more or less bilingual). However, I did object when doing an archived puzzle that it would only accept 'aluminum' and not 'aluminium' as the latter is definitively correct as per the standards laid down by IUPAC. Grin

I'm only toasty on todays so far.

I've found some easy and some very hard. There was one in the archive which gave a warning it was tough... lacking a 'give up' button I ended up finding the answer on Reddit.

Ah. I've been lulled into a false sense of security then!

Argh!! A long route round to what is often one of my exploratory words.

I solved Pimantle #67 with 100 guesses and no hints! semantle.pimanrul.es/

BIWI · 30/04/2022 16:59

Interesting the message you get about 'no hints' - I can't see anywhere on pimantle where you can get hints! (Although maybe that's disappeared now I've done today's?)

I've just started one of the archive ones to check - the hint button appears under the guess button after the first 10 guesses.

I solved Pimantle #67 with 4 guesses and no hints! semantle.pimanrul.es/

After the Cemantle debacle today, I have restored some faith in myself...

But it was just a lucky guess and no deduction!

theDudesmummy · 30/04/2022 22:21

Good Redactle today

BIWI · 02/05/2022 10:58

Much harder today

I solved Pimantle #69 with 102 guesses and 4 hints!

I can't do these. I looked at pimantle and after a while was just hitting the hint button. I didn't know two thirds of the words and they were all so different! Not sure how I'm meant to guess the target word. Same with semantle. I love language, but I just get the feeling there's something I'm missing about how to solve them.

valleyofadventure · 02/05/2022 15:19

I couldn't get pimantle today, even with endless hints, was going round in circles

Bytrgrewd · 02/05/2022 15:28

Weirdly though I love Semantle every time I try Pimantle I find I can’t even be bothered trying

ErrolTheDragon · 02/05/2022 16:55

Life is too short... as pimantle has an archive I think I'll keep it for if I want an extra rather than trying to do it daily.
