What to do with online order?

I made an online order two weeks ago. I was hoping maybe the item was going to be delivered towards the end of last week but that didn't happen. The shop gave an estimate of 9 working days. I am aware that nothing would have moved over the Easter weekend.

I checked my online account and the item hasn't even been dispatched yet. I presume when the item will be dispatched it will spend another few more days with a courier.

So I don't know when I'm going get this order. It won't be today or tomorrow and looks like it probably won't be next week either.

This was supposed to be for a birthday present that was last week.

It still isn't here. I'm sick of it.

Should I be cancelling this order at this stage and look for something else instead for a birthday present?

It's only been 8 working days since you ordered it though, even if you did order it two weeks ago. You can't really complain if they said it would be dispatched in 9 working days.

I clicked into my account last week and it said the order tracking gave me an estimated delivery date for Wednesday the 27th of April. Now when I check my account it says delivery date unconfirmed.

I think this is ridiculous. At this stage the item should at least be handed over to a courier but that hasn't happened yet.

It's probably on backorder but they should let you know if this is the case. Unless you really, really, really want it yes I'd cancel and choose something else.

I would cancel and reorder elsewhere, especially if it's a larger company. Small businesses I would allow extra time as they don't have the same manpower as larger companies.
