What age did your kids start cutting their own nails?

Just that really.

DS is 8 and I'm starting to think he should be able to?

She does now at 11. I think fingers were about 8/9 and toes were later.

Its when they feel confident. They might only be confident about cutting the left hand if they are righthanded. So youncould encourage them to do one hand and you do the other? I think I chewed mine off rather than using scissors which meant I got in a habit and had chewed nails until my twenties.

My eldest started doing hers around age ten for both feet as she's extremely ticklish, a little later for both hands purely because she couldn't do her left hand. My youngest, Miss Independant, starting doing hers aged six. I wasn't aware I hadn't done hers for ages until one day I made a comment about her nails not growing and she admitted cutting them herself. She also braided her hair for school at that age. She just decided to and that was that. I never brushed her hair ever again.

I have a 13 year old that isn't confident but his dt has been cutting them for a few years.
Eldest was about 11.
It didn't suddenly happen for any of them, started with toes, then non dominant hand then dominant hand.
