Swimming fading hair colour

I’ve been going swimming once a week for the last few months (also using the steam room for 15 mins after swimming) and it’s stripping my hair colour.

I have my hair coloured every two months but with the swimming it’s faded out within 3 weeks. Is there any product that prevents or significantly reduces this fading from swimming?

I do rinse my hair between pool and steam room and then wash it and condition it properly before leaving to drive home.

Thoroughly wet your hair before getting in the pool and put a swim cap on. Your hair being wet stops it soaking up as much of the chlorine water as does the swim cap.

Swim cat and swimmers shampoo, ultra swim is good.

There is literally nobody else there in a swim cap. It’s more of a leisure club type place so maybe that’s why. Don’t want to be the only one! Any other nifty ideas of must have product/solutions without making me feel too self conscious?

I use Philip Kingsley Swimcap. It’s a cream you put on before swimming. Boots used to do their own version which was loads cheaper but I can’t find anything similar now.

Umberto gianni have a chlorine and uv protectant cream in their mermaid hair range

Thank you both. I’m liking the sound of a haircare range for mermaids 🧜‍♀️

I’ve ordered the Phillip Kingsley Swimcap one. Will report back.
