What are your Electric prices per unit

Dodie66 · 25/04/2022 23:14

We are on an old protected tariff which is not shown on comparison websites so we can’t compare and see if other tariffs are cheaper.
our off peak is 25p per unit and daytime is 29p
could you tell me what yours are and what tariff you are on so that we can see if it would be cheaper to move. We are all electric
thanks

27.86p per kw h with a variable Eon tariff. 48.13p per day. I'm not sure you'd be able to move to anything better than you have now.

19.33p

This is ours on standard variable rate, economy 7 meter. One of the highest daily standing charges of all the regions but can’t do anything about that.

About 22p but it's an old fix, so not available now. Once our fix runs out we will be moved onto a variable tariff and subject to price cap movements

tothemoonandbackbuses · 26/04/2022 06:20

On a commercial fix as it’s a mixed use property
standinf charge 30p a day
unit charge 31.5p
only fixed recently

What others pay won't help you as rates vary across the country and many will be on tariffs that are not available to new customers. Also any replies on here will only be a tiny snapshot that is not necessarily representative of the country as a whole.

Also most suppliers aren't accepting new customers at all right now unless they sign up to fixes that are almost certainly far more expensive than what you are currently paying.

But you can use a comparison site. All you need to do is use your annual consumption to work out what you are currently paying, not forgetting the daily standing charge. Then enter your consumption into a comparison site to see what the cheapest available switch is and work out the 'saving' yourself - I don't think there will be a cheaper product unless you can find something with a much cheaper night rate, as your day rate looks pretty good and the SC on electricity is a lot more expensive now.

The only other thing you can do is see if you're eligible for any extra grants if you're on a low income, but you need to talk to your supplier and apply if you qualify. Start by looking at:

21.842p per kWh, 18p standing charge. Loyalty fix with Scottish power in Yorkshire until March 2023

Dodie66 · 26/04/2022 07:39

Thank you all so much. Looks like ours is worth staying on for now

Your current rate, averaged, is lower than the current price cap rate.

We’re with Octopus - they were the supplier att the house when we moved in in February and we couldn’t bring our old supplier (bulb) with us. Cornwall is in region 22 and, as I said, our standing charges are amongst the highest in the country. Thankfully, their customer service provision is probably the best there is!!
