If you wear varifocals, do you also have varifocal sunglasses?

If you wear varifocals, but only have a relatively mild prescription for close work, do you also wear varifocal sunglasses? Or do you just have distance sunglasses if you're happy that you can see the speedo etc.? Thanks!

My varifocals are reactive to sun. They are usually ok in uk, but not enough for really strong sunlight. I have normal distance sunglasses, but I can’t read the Sat having those

I've got a pair of 'transitions' varifocals that darken based on light conditions as well as a normal pair - got them on 2-4-1 though paid extra for the 'transitions' lenses.

I just have single vision sunglasses so I can drive. Take them off to read!

I just got some verifocal sunglasses with my new specsavers prescription buy one get one free. Was sick of not being able to read in the sun

I have magnetic sunglasses attachments which work really well.

I have some vintage clip on sunglasses, far too hip for me but they’re a perfect fit for my varifocals and I love everything about them.

Yes, but I got my sunglasses with the cheapest lenses from Glasses Direct. They're not as good as my more expensive normal glasses, but they're much better (for me) than single vision. With single vision I can't see anything in the middle ground.

Yes. Nothing wrong with Asda at all, I'm on my 2nd pair of varifocals now, only replacing my last ones when my prescription changed. I got the 2 for £120 and they are great.

Asda also do a range at £45, including thinner lenses, varifocals and tints.

I tried but couldn't get on with them - I couldn't afford the lens thinning so they were really thick and they made me feel dizzy.
Plus when you go into a tunnel or car park it's too dark and you can't take them off like sunglasses because then you can't see!

Single vision so can see the road and road signs, but not the sat nav. No use for reading (though my long sightedness does now allow me to read without glasses so in theory could use normal sunglasses).

Can someone please let me know how they felt when they first changed to varifocals? As that is a path I now have to tred. All was well until the optician told
me my reading vision was failing due to age (I thanked them for that comment 😂). Now I find myself peering over my glasses or taking them off in the supermarket to read the labels and I really can’t go on like that. For context I am chronically shorted sighted and have been since a teenager so wondering how I will go with varifocals. Just think I can’t be bothered carrying around two pairs of glasses.

I've just got reactive varifocals for £26.99 delivered. Goggles4U (Not sure if posting the name of the company is allowed but anyway...) had a 73% off sale.

They took about a month to arrive compared to about a week for standard lenses but I'm really happy with them so far.
