Got an appointment with GP in March to look at going on HRT due to symptoms of palpitations, insomnia, joint aches, and brain fog. this appointment took a week of phoning daily to get. So GP wanted me to have routine blood done first and then review.
Couldn't get blood tests appt until the end of March. They came back 2nd week of April. I phoned to organise a review to be told the particular GP only works 2 days a week and I cant pre-book an appointment, you have to phone on the day.
So it's been 2 weeks now and despite phoning dead on 8 am I either get engaged tone or if I,m lucky put in the queue and by the time the call is answered I get 'Sorry all appointments have gone for today, try phoning back again tomorrow'.
This is ridiculous, isn't it? I don't need an on the day emergency appointment I would just like to actually get the review and discuss starting HRT.
So it's Friday now before I can enter the phone line lottery again. Have tried e consult, but apparently, they have shut it down. I don't want a face to face. I just want to get the ball rolling. Why won't GPs allow appointment booking for non-urgent stuff?
