Ignore the zit! But just above it, a small black/blue mark has appeared, seemingly overnight.

Its not a blackhead - there's no lump or raised patch - it's almost like a tiny tattoo, no bigger than a pinhead.

Googling has come up with some scary suggestions, so I thought I'd ask here before bothering the doctor over a 1mm patch of skin

Not a blackhead?
It looks like a spot I have on my hand - but I know that it a tiny piece of lead from where someone stabbed me with a pencil at school! So, sorry, I can't help, hopefully someone else can.......

Looks like a small mole to me keep the photo and see if it changes over the next week or two, probably worth seeing gp or asking a chemist to take a look for an opinion. Have you been squeezing the spot? It could be a bruised bit of skin perhaps. Disclaimer… i have no real idea just offering suggestions for your perusal.

Could be a blood blister. Have you picked at something?

I have a similar mole that appeared on my arm after getting sunburnt. It looks like someone has dotted my skin with a black biro. It looks completely different to any of my other moles. I had it checked out by the gp and it was fine. I’d get your gp to have a look to make sure it’s ok/put your mind at rest.

Were you using a pen yesterday? Could it just be ink?

TheGlitterati · 25/04/2022 09:43

It’s just a spot under the skin. Exfoliate etc and give it a week.

A nevus

My MIL had a few of those on her face. She had lived in hot climes for many years and was a sunbather. They were like small black moles, not really raised. They didn’t change much and caused no problem. However, she also, in her 80s, had a basal cell carcinoma removed from her face.

Have you had a lot of UV exposure, OP?

Actually think it may be just some sebum oxidizing. What happens if you gently roll two q-tips towards each other over it? It may just ooze or pop out.
