What do you picture when you think of a person or their name?

Okay so my brains worked this way for as long as I can remember I was just curious to see if anyone else thought like this, I’ll try to explain it as best I can.

When I’m thinking about someone (but not everyone and not every time I think of them) then in my head I don’t see the person, but I see a place. It’s usually always the same place for each person when it does happen, but it’s never usually a place that actually relates to that person, it’s just a place that I know. I can’t find anything about this online and DH just couldn’t grasp it when I tried to explain it to him, so I’m just wondering if I’m really odd or if this is a common thing?

Sounds like some sort of synesthesia. Have you looked this up at all?

I do visualise them in their space I.e home or work etc. And I don't always see them as such, more like peripheral vision, they're there but I see a made up scenario going on around. Sounds crazy I know!

Definitely sounds like synthesesia. When I think of a person, I see the person in my minds eye.

It is very similar I think, I have read up on synesthesia but it didn't seem to match up with any of the different types.

From what I can gather there are loads of different types. I associate people's names with food. I just thought I was a bit odd until I heard about synesthesia. So glad when I realised it was a 'thing'.
