Neighbours taken parcel now not answering door

Just as subject says really. Ordered 4 pairs of school shorts and a skirt for dd and specified two safe places and a number of a neighbour (next door) they could be left with. The delivery agent has left it with another neighbour.and they are not answering the door to me. No idea why, no issues and they are across the road so shouldn’t be any issues at all. Tried yesterday afternoon, evening and just now. Lights on yesterday eve and cars outside yesterday and today. No answer each time. These were needed for tomorrow really. What can I do next to get my things?

Put a note through, or if you're sure they're in, continually ring the doorbell / knock until they answer.

ThreeLittleDots · 24/04/2022 13:54

Also check with your designated neighbour anyway first as delivery driver may have written / inputted the wrong house number

LoveSpringDaffs · 24/04/2022 13:55

Knock loud enough to be heard over household noise.

Repeatedly until someone answers.

but surely the kid/s can wear whatever they worse Friday? (Presuming you've washed it)

AHungryCaterpillar · 24/04/2022 13:58

Put a note through with your number

Alakazam8 · 24/04/2022 13:59

They can, but it’s a change from winter to summer uniform and they are back to school tomorrow. Will try again later and put a note through door if I don’t get anywhere this time.
is definitely not the wrong house number as it’s handwritten and also on the email about it has the name of the person who took it in. So I know it’s definitely them…

Contact the delivery company. Make it their problem. They fucked up by delivering it to a neighbour you didn't nominate.

Send the children in winter uniform and contact the school to tell them why the uniform is incorrect.

AHungryCaterpillar · 24/04/2022 14:07

How is it incorrect ?
surely winter uniform is just trousers and Summer is what a dress, shorts? I’m sure they will be fine for one day in “winter uniform” that they was wearing on Friday 🙄

VerifiedBot2351 · 24/04/2022 14:09

I would put a note through saying it’s school uniform needed for tomorrow. Then leave it an hour or so, and then keep knocking.

Alakazam8 · 24/04/2022 14:09

They will be fine, no problem with school at all or me. However dd is autistic so sees it a bit differently. I paid extra to have them delivered on Sat so they would arrive on time too.

Alakazam8 · 24/04/2022 14:09

They don’t have a child the same age, no

But she was wearing the uniform on Friday? Who is to say Monday will be any different! It’s not going to be drastically warmer is it

SpindleInTheWind · 24/04/2022 14:12

I think you may also need to leave a note on your door saying NOT to leave parcels with that particular neighbour in future (once you've got this sorted). I've had to do that before now.

Alakazam8 · 24/04/2022 14:12

No back to school tomorrow- wasn’t in school on Friday.Of course she can wear something else but I still need to get them back eventually!

No, back to school tomorrow that should read.

Could they be away but not taken the cars and have lights etc on timers? Have you actually seen them this weekend?

Alakazam8 · 24/04/2022 14:16

I suppose they could be away and have lights on timers but they were there yesterday afternoon to receive parcel. Will put note through and see what happens after that.
