Forgot to pay Tyne tunnel toll

Woke up at 5am this morning realising I'd forgotten to pay this from earlier in the week! We were on holiday and it completely slipped my mind when we got home to pay it. How annoying.

I've paid now - but am I still likely to get a fine?

I appealed a fine on the Runcorn tunnel and won. My sister did the same on a different occasion.

I think it's outrageous the way they organise that, to be honest. I go through the Mersey tunnel a lot and you just pay as you go. There must be thousands of people who forget to pay with the other tunnels.

Unfortunately yes- they are shit hot at sending the fines out.

It's quite new isn't it? Last time I was there it was a cash payment and my head was still in that space..I can't argue that there weren't lots of signs etc telling you what to do though. How annoying! 48 hours too late and it'll cost me £30!
