Niche but.. coins?!

Anyone know anything about them or if you can take them to have them valued etc? My dad has randomly given me a bag of coins (like commemorative ones) and well, it's not my niche subject Grin

Almost certainly not worth much. You can see on eBay what you have. Lots of crowns, like Charles and Diana one, are still available. If you don't find what you have it is more likely to be rare.

I will have a Google! He's given me a fair few
Not fussed about value (although a surprise few ££ would be nice) I'm just a bit.. don't want them sitting in a cupboard glaring at me

Great picture! The silver little ones are I think silver threepenny bits. If they have a 3 on the reverse side they are part of the Maundy Money sets given out by the Queen.

If it were me I might keep the best of each one and sell the rest. The silver value is the cause of value for most of it. Don't be fooled by listings asking £££ for a Charles and Diana crown, they are actually going for less than £2. Unless they are pristine and in some rare box of course.

Ebay is a good place to start to get an idea of prices. I can't see the dates but older crowns are worth something depending on dates.

I've got about ten of those Diana coins GrinConfused
I did ask my dad where they came from and he just shrugged
Apparently he's also bringing me a stamp collection. I'm not even asking

Having a sort through to see what there is. I find them interesting even if they’re not worth anything

I love seeing them! I have all the English ones you have shown.

Are they solid silver? Pure silver bullion coins will have some value (iirc we sold FIL's for about £25 per coin - market fluctuates a bit based on spot price of silver). There are some friendly Facebook groups for silver trading - PM me if you want me to dig out links. Not my usual cup of tea, but DH and I helped elderly FIL sell most of his collection a couple of years ago as he wanted the cash for something else.

If they're not silver I'm afraid I have no idea!
