Anyone here bank with Nationwide?

I decided to change my bank as was having a few issues with the one I was with so went with nationwide.

They sent the debit card through the post, then the pin, I noticed right away it was 6 digits long instead of four, Went to cash machine to change the pin and it wouldn't let me, then when I tried again said my pin was wrong.

Also not working on the card reader they sent to me.

Am I doing something wrong? Should the pin be six digits long? Even the card reader they sent has four when I try to put it in!

Going to phone them later after work but just wondering if anyone else had this?

That sounds like your pass number which is six digits, it’s what you use to log into online banking

Oh sorry I just re-read and it’s been sent to you as a PIN. My PIN is definitely 4 digits. Not sure what that is about I would give them a call!

Letter that came with it said Here is the pin for the card ending which is why I'm confused. I have already set up online banking with them and i set my own code on there.

The 6 digit number sounds like the number you need as part the log in procedure for online banking.

I agree, the six digit code is you online banking code. You can login with the reader or the six digit code and a text code. I don’t use my account number, so not sure what authentication is required on the APP

I only use 4 digits, so check this with them. Customer service 0800 302015.

The letter obviously isnt very clearly worded, PINs for using a card for shopping or cashpoint are always 4 digits

Log on and you can possibly request a new PIN
