Obviously Brexity types will be loving it but I say be careful what you wish for.
Listening to a radio programme about it I was surprised to hear of her popularity with left leaning young people who are unaware of her father's notoriety and the fact that she has only superficially cleaned up her act. One political pundit reckons that the policy forcing muslim women to ditch the headscarf is going to cause huge civil unrest. The desire for a change at any cost is going to be massively damaging not just for France but Nato and the EU, particularly considering her chumminess with Putin and France's stance vis a vis the Ukraine war. I think this is all terrifying. If there's a good example of the damage right wing populist governments can inflict on a country surely looking across the channel at the UK should be a big red flag to floating voters.....
