Anyone got any tips for soothing a BAD headache?

It's in one place. On the right hand side of my head. It actually feels painful to press on that area. I think it's a pressure headache

Has anyone got any tips for managing it?

I use to get migraines that mimicked a stroke! Face fell to one side, loss of feeling in part of my body, slurred speech and disoriented. This isn't that but it's bloody painful

Is there anything I can do?!

I have had paracemol and ibuprofen

Could it be a migraine ?
Dark room and hot/cold compress. Can anyone get you something stronger from the chemist ?

Have you got any Vicks in? I like a dab of that under my nose and on my temples, for some reason I find it soothing! Also with pressure headaches, I sometimes find a neck support can help if you have a pillow or something you can use? Taking the weight off the back off my head just seems to ease it somehow. Also remember to keep drinking and eating regularly, even if just a small snack!

You poor thing.

Have you had caffeine and sugar? Have both (full fat coke is great) then you can try either:

Lying on floor on back with rolled up towel or similar behind neck and something cold on forehead;

Sitting with feet in hit/warm water with ice pack/frozen peas wrapped in cloth on back of neck.

Tiger Balm/menthol/peppermint oil also good.

Any chance you can go back to bed for an hour?

Hate to say but unrelenting headache has been my worst Covid symptom each time and also get when I've got an infection, does anything else feel off? Saying that when I get migraines (sometimes get hemiplegic too, sometimes 'normal') sore scalp/face is a warning that often lasts longer than the rest, so if you have triptans could you take one?

Really hope it's better soon

It sounds like my sinus headaches and they don’t respond to pain medication. Try a neilmed sinus rinse or similar and a couple of days of a decongestant (not too long or it will cause more problems)

gp can prescribe antibiotic if that’s what it is, but because sinuses don’t have a lot of blood vessels a short course won’t cut the mustard.

You can buy those ice packs that wrap around your head from Amazon for next time?
What about massaging pressure points?

Thank you all for replying to me Flowerst

Thank you so much for the coke suggestion. I had a can with a cheese and onion pasty and for some reason it's helped massively

DS is VERY loud so making the day difficult as it just bangs bangs bangs when he screeches Hmm

I really like the headache meditations or hypnosis for headache on YouTube. The Jason Stephenson and Michael Sealey ones are good. And full fat coke, which I can see you've had. I read on here the other day that tiger balm on the temples is good too, but haven't tried it yet. And rubbing the triangle of skin between your thumb and first finger, it's an acupressure point or something. Not sure if it really does help but it's worth a go!
