Sauce for a pasta dish - what would you use?

OK so like loads of us we're feeling the pinch and i'm back to doing massive pasta mix ups to feed big family, mixed ages, some picky.

I do a sausage, bacon and mushroom cooked and chopped up, stirred into pasta, seasoned, and a big cheap jar of bolognese sauce stirred through it all. This is greeted well by all. Sometimes some cheese sprinkled. No probs.

I also do one with the pasta, some chopped cooked chicken breasts, bacon and sweetcorn. Seasoned obvs. Everyone likes it but we all want a sauce to bung in. Any ideas?

(don't take the pee out of my very basic cooking please 😂)

TIA

Stir frying onions and adding tomatoes would be cheaper and more nutritious. You can add garlic, herbs, chilli depending on what you've got I used to use a jar and it doesn't take much longer. You can add the ingredients you mentioned. If not, whatever you have in especially if it needs using up - kidney beans, lentils, peppers sweetcorn, mince, quorn mince. Occasionally, you could add breadcrumbs and cheese to the top and bake in oven.

Soup did cross my mind actually! Good to know it works thank you.

I use a couple of cans of cheap chicken soup when i do a chicken casserole. Chicken thighs (browned first)/leeks/onion/celery/carrot a bit of barley ect. and the tinned soup :)

DH has just reminded me that last time i did the chicken, bacon, sweetcorn, pasta thing i sprinkled a packet of the fajita smokey bbq mix on it and stirred it in and it was nice! I still wanted a runny sauce idea.

Youngest DD didn't like it with fajita mix but everyone else did.
