Where do you keep your wheelie bins?

Ours are currently on the drive as everywhere else makes it too awkward to hump them out on bin collection days.

I hate them there and am trying to find a place to hide them. DH doesn't see a problem with them being on the drive. Wondering what everyone else does?

Mine are down the side of the house, it’s just a job we have do, I don’t mind it.
I personally wouldn’t want them visible from the road as it looks tidier.

bigbluebus · 21/04/2022 10:36

Mine are just inside the back gate with a trellis screen in front of them so we're not looking at them from the patio.
If you've got nowhere else to put them you can buy/make an enclosure to put them in so they don't look unsightly or alternatively buy decorative stickers to disguise/brighten them up.

dementedpixie · 21/04/2022 10:41

At the back of the house
Wheel them to the front of the house on bin day

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 21/04/2022 10:42

Back of the drive. Only other place would be the patio in the back garden...

The driveway goes down the side of the house though and there's a car port covering the bit at the side of the house.

NotAScoobyToBeSeen · 21/04/2022 10:43

In the back garden, wheel them round for bin day, its not a big job to do

Chishnfips · 21/04/2022 10:56

Down the side of the house so I can't see them when I'm looking out to the garden and so they are close to the kitchen back door. Our house is set back from the road so we have to take them down the pathway for the bin men to pick up anyway so a few extra feet down the garden isn't a big issue.

IstayedForTheFeminism · 21/04/2022 11:02

In the front garden. There's no where else to put them

X marks the spot

Where do you keep your wheelie bins?
oneproudmumma · 21/04/2022 11:17

@IncompleteSenten similar to ours.. it's on the side of our drive.

We have ours on the drive and it doesn't bother us in the slightest. You can always build a little enclosure for them though, or just put a fence up so they're not visible from the road.

Danikm151 · 21/04/2022 13:27

mine are on the street in front of my terrace house. Same with all the neighbours.
My old terrace we would keep them in the back garden through the entry but the pavement was small so it wasn't reasonable to leave the bins in front of the house.
This house the alleys are shared between 5-6 houses(it's like going through a maze) so it's not reasonable to have the bins in the back garden. No pavements are blocked and everybody has them in front of their wall.

Mizydoscape · 21/04/2022 13:30

In the service lane behind the house next to the back gate but that doesn't help you if you don't have a service lane

AHungryCaterpillar · 21/04/2022 13:42

Front garden,
don’t have a drive and can’t access the back garden from the street so front garden they go

WindyGlowers · 21/04/2022 14:06

Green one is in the back garden. Not ideal as we have to pull it up a fair few steps to the roadside. We keep the blue one in the garage at the roadside but I worry about the green one smelling too much to keep it in there too.

XenoBitch · 21/04/2022 14:28

In the front garden.

SpottyStripyDuvet · 21/04/2022 14:30

In the front garden (same as everyone else in the road).

TabithaTittlemouse · 21/04/2022 14:33

Beside the drive but it has it’s own little wooden house next to the log store so it looks tidy and the animals don’t pinch it.

jytdtysrht · 21/04/2022 14:36

I wouldn’t want mine on the drive in case of CFs chucking big bags of litter in. Our council want to go to collections every 3 or 4 weeks so bin space is precious with a busy family and pets.

squiller · 21/04/2022 14:53

End of the drive. A few people here have a wooden container thing to put them in. I’m not really bothered by them.
