Somebody has taught my autistic 4yo to swear

He can talk but is delayed and isn't conversational so can't tell me where its come from.

This morning when getting ready I pointed to a character on his t-shirt and said "what's this" to which he replied very matter of fact "fuck off"

We soon realised that he's associating the pointing to the swearing, so we think somebody has been showing him the middle finger and teaching him that it means "fuck off" and he's now interpreting all pointing as that.

He doesn't know what it means, he's not being naughty or rude. Somebody has taught him it and it's going to take forever to change the correlation in his mind.

do you have any idea of where it may have come from? friends? family? I hope not school but you never know

I cant help I’m afraid, but if it makes you feel any better my 4 year old saw people making the peace/victory sign with two fingers when having their photo taken and he now thinks that’s the thing to do, and I’m sure you can guess where this is leading!
Cue his nan asking for a photo and him for the first time obliging nicely with a cheeky smile and a big V (not the peace sign!).

Ice, that did make me chuckle 😄

There's a few possibilities for where he's got it.

Nursery (although very unlikely if you ask me, it's a special needs place and the staff are wonderful and not likely to put up with anything of the sort)

His older siblings (my DSC) however also unlikely as I've never heard them swear, they're really good kids.

The last, and IMO most likely option, is my bloody mother.
