Shower whilst guests in flat?

HRTQuestions · 20/04/2022 14:32

Is it acceptable to have a shower whilst your 11 year old has a friend over? They came in and are playing Minecraft. I was not planning on inviting people over and have been cleaning all day. Need a shower so I can go out as soon as DH gets home, which is just before when child says he needs to be home.
Shower right next to living room, would wear dressing gown to walk to my room rather than towel!

Why wouldn't it be acceptable?

RandomQuest · 20/04/2022 14:36

Fine I think but I’d get dressed in the bathroom, not strut through the living room in your dressing gown!

PigeonMail · 20/04/2022 14:36

I thought you were going to say whilst you had guests over or something
Of course it’s fine

nearlyspringyay · 20/04/2022 14:37

As long as you're not walking around naked why on earth wouldn't it be?

HRTQuestions · 20/04/2022 14:37

I won't strut through the living room 😂but the hallway (5 paces) from the bathroom to my bedroom is visible from the living room.

Eh? What's wrong with walking from room to room in your dressing gown?

Qwill · 20/04/2022 14:45

Exactly @StrangeCondition !!

I think my dressing gown covers much more of my body than my actual clothes!!

RandomQuest · 20/04/2022 15:01

Haha was not suggesting you’d be flashing anyone, only that the pre teens in my family would just be sooo embarrassed if mum was in their dressing gown in front of their friends but that’s probably a reflection on them rather than the appropriateness of the situation.

Will you be leaving the door open and / or hollering along to Whitney loudly?

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 20/04/2022 15:09

What a weird question. Of course it’s fine!

Norgie · 20/04/2022 15:42

If course it's fine. I used to do it all the time with a towel wrapped round me.
