What's better? Walking or riding?

I have a 2 mile ish commute.
I was enjoying walking as it meant I hit my 10k steps every day (work on my feet otherwise, usually around 6k per day)
Recently got a bike which is fantastic as it saves around 20 mins.
But, I am no longer hitting my steps.

So, what's better? Walk easily, take 1/2 hr and hit 10k or ride for less time (around 10 mins), but feel my legs working out?

You do know that the 10k is a myth and was cocked up as a marketing campaign for the Tokyo olympics in the 1960th?

Be active, don't count steps.

for health & fitness, walking is better because it's more exercise.
I'd mix it up, probably, depending on spare time I have or don't have. I have a similar decision for some volunteering I do: sometimes I walk, sometimes I cycle.
