Cleaning stainless steel oven and hob

New kitchen and I want to keep it looking good for as long as possible. What do people use to clean their stainless steel appliances without rubbing off the oven markings for temperatures etc?

Our previous oven had no temperature or function settings left on them when we had a cleaning company do our regular cleans. I never asked what they used at the time and now want to avoid accidentally using the same thing!

Thanks in advance!

The Method stainless steel spray is the best, with a dry microfibre cloth!

Thank you!

What do the user manuals say? Washing up liquid or something gentle like original Stardrops in hot water will work fine providing you don't leave it for weeks at a time. I use an e-cloth glass cloth, a linen scrim or cotton test towel to dry off to prevent marks and streaks.

Not oven but i use one of those car dash sponge things to wipe over fridge freezer and breadbin once in a while to remove fingerprints rather than grease and dirt, refresh it with a splash of baby oil when it dries out.

If it's a 112 grade steel, which most appliances are, then you only need normal washing up liquid with hit water then dry off with either a soft cloth or kitchen roll.

Sorry, hot water not hit.

Thanks all. Will give the hot water and soap a try, already have the method cleaner on order.
