Costco eye tests and glasses

Just wondering if anyone has ever used Costco for an eye test and subsequently purchased glasses?

I've never had an eye test or worn glasses before but I think i probably need them now, we have a Costco membership and are planning on going next weekend so I'm thinking I might try and book in for an eye test whilst we are there but I am just wondering how they compare to a local independent opticians or specsavers etc?

For anyone that has used them is there a good range of glasses to choose from? And how do prices compare to other places? I always walk straight past the opticians bit and never take any notice but if they are more expensive than other places then I will just choose somewhere local instead!

Any advice appreciated Smile

I've had several pairs of glasses from them. M'y last pair, varilux, with grammes cost £250 a few years ago, including drames for a +6/+3 prescription.
I live in France. Each lens would cost around 500€.

Funnily enough, I'm considering getting my first glasses from Costco! Not sure on the cost of an eye exam as I went to my local Specsavers.

My Costco has a large range of glasses but they tend to be largely designer. Average for frames seemed to be around £60-70 but not sure on the cost for lenses.

I intend to go back at some point to order them, so I'll report back with what it costs me.

Brilliant thank you!

My employer will pay for my eye test and part of my glasses so price isn't a major factor but I don't want to go to Costco for ease and end up paying over the odds as they are all fancy designer ones or something! So it is good to hear they had frames in the £60-70 price range, I think I will go ahead and book in.
