Facebook Selling Scam? I’m the buyer

Interested in buying a SUP. Quite a few listed on Facebook marketplace at around £75. This seems cheap. I message three and it turns out none of them are actual sellers but are promoting a “new” website. They say the only way to buy is via the website and items will be sent this week.

Payment is done via PayPal (proper merchant account not friends and family / send payment).

Is this a scam? Price seems too good to be true and the marketplace listings show them items in a house, not brand new from a warehouse.

Presumably if I try, I have PayPal protection if they don’t dispatch.

It just feels like a scam…

If it feels like a scam then trust your instincts!

Price too good to be true.

You’ve answered your own nagging doubt.

It is a scam. Report the listing to Facebook.

I get a lot of listings for kitchenaids at £73, sounds similar and too good to be true. I don't even want a kitchenaid 🤷‍♀️
