Where is still hot in October half term?

Hoping for a week abroad, all inclusive would be great as we're doing a self catering cottage in the summer. Must be school holidays as I'm a teacher. I'm thinking Turkey as Greece can be windy and Majorca prone to rain. Basically a fly and flop holiday, waterslides a bonus. Kids are pre teens so we'd need to book 2 rooms. Budget 2k max all in. Flying from London airports. Any help appreciated

The Canary Islands. I wouldn't bank on the weather anywhere further north at the end of October.

CraftyCleopatra · 18/04/2022 17:56

Have a friend who swears by Cyprus in the October break

MarianosOnHisWay · 18/04/2022 17:58

Tenerife

Orchidflower1 · 18/04/2022 17:59

Cyprus - you may need a jacket in the evening depending if you feel the cold.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 18/04/2022 17:59

Is Turkey colder than the Canaries?

Gran Canaria

Best place to book a package online please?

Only really the canaries.
You MIGHT be ok in Turkey or Greece but it's unlikely to be hot.

I don't think you'll get AI in The Canaries for £2k for two rooms though.

ifonly4 · 18/04/2022 18:07

Canaries.

FrenchFancie · 18/04/2022 18:08

Cyprus - we live there and October half term is reliably hot enough to go to the beach. May be a little cooler in the evening if you are eating outside. Not sure you’ll get all inclusive on your budget but have a look at some of the hotels around Pafos. Jet2 holidays are quite decent I believe?

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 18/04/2022 18:10

Ah bollocks.

If anyone wants a challenge be my guest, I've been on Easyjet holidays already.

Canaries

Canaries are fab, Lanzarote in particular, I love it, I don’t like tower blocks, most accommodation is only 3 storeys high, unlike most other islands.

I suspect so. They get snow in winter.
Duracellbunnywannabe · 18/04/2022 18:19

I think your budget is too tight for 2 beds at half term, probably too tight for one bed at half term.

TheArtfulScreamer1 · 18/04/2022 18:20

We've done Cyprus mid Oct a few times and it's always been really nice.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 18/04/2022 18:21

Ugh. Back to the drawing board.

Lanzarote. I had a great time there in Oct half term pre-COVID. Not sure you’ll get AI and two rooms for 2k though.

User7493268965 · 18/04/2022 18:24

I'm sure Lanzarote was a bit cheaper than the other Canary Islands, just as nice though

Babyroobs · 18/04/2022 18:25

We went to Ibiza in October half term a few years ago and weather was pretty warm.

lanbro · 18/04/2022 18:26

Definitely the Canaries, we just did Feb half term in Lanzarote for £1600 AI for 4, 1 bed apartment. Have done Gran Canaria in Oct half term and lovely weather. I'm a big fan of last minute, went to Gran Canaria in January for £1200 4* AI for 4 by booking the week before, very pleasant weather but cool in the evenings.

You could hit lucky further north but personally I wouldn't take the risk. Would you consider Egypt?

MrPickles73 · 18/04/2022 18:27

We went to Tenerife for October half term and it wasn't that warm. I'd go for Morocco or Egypt

itsgettingweird · 18/04/2022 18:38

Canaries is your best bet for warmer weather.

But having lived there for 6 years I can inform you that October can have rain and only be around 15-18° occasionally.

Generally it's pretty nice all year round though.
