Landlord selling house

Our landlord is selling our house we rent through an agency and have got somewhere else to go around about June . Our notice date is September . The landlord has been contacting me on what feels like too many occasions wanting to arrange a valuation which is fair enough but is now wanting to have photographs etc I presume with a view to putting it on the market . My tenancy agreement states we only need to allow viewings during last month of tenancy which would not be until August , I don’t particularly want photographs with all of our personal belongings furniture etc in them and I certainly don’t want to have people in viewing when we are working from home and really don’t want disturbed during weekends and evenings . Has anyone else been in this position ? Landlord is selling to purchase more property . I have extreme anxiety and the whole situation is playing on my mind constantly .

The contract is not enforceable, you have a legal right to quiet enjoyment of your home and do not need to allow ANY viewing this is current law and over rules any contract

You can contact shelter for further advice or information

Well if you do don't want to have photos taken and people viewing why don't you start looking for a new rental so he can sell it vacant? Seems like the best option?

If you don't want photographer trotting around your home you could ask LL to use photos EA took when house was put up for rent.

SylviasMotherSaid · 18/04/2022 21:47

Yeah I am thinking of doing that as there should be the photos from when we rented the house .

OP said they have a new rental lined up for June. So yes, he can sell it vacant when OP has moved out. Until then, just say No OP!

@Xfox that's crazy I didn't see that at all Shock fair enough! Tell landlord to wait til June if he can?

Yeah I am thinking of doing that as we are trying to pack up sell unwanted things on eBay etc and I just hate the thought of anyone being able to see our belongings and everything online . Mainly because we are skint and it’s embarrassing to have shabby furniture online for everyone to see .
