Am I being oversensitive or was this remark a not very nice thing to say

"What shampoo do you use? It's a shame your hair is so thin"

I'm sensitive about my hair. It's always been very fine, a bit like toddler hair, and because I suffer with a chronic condition that causes me to be more or less permanently anaemic it is also very thin. More than once I've thought about buying a wig.

I found the remark hurtful but I don't know if the person who made it (she calls me her best friend) was being insensitive or whether it was a bitchy thing to say. I've never really noticed until a few months ago that she can make quite mean remarks about people behind their backs.

I would find it hurtful yes. I have alopecia.

It’s nasty and bitchy if she knows you’re sensitive about it. And if she’s talking behind peoples backs she may well be doing the same about you. She sounds like a snake.

Sorry you had this op, she sounds incredibly unkind and critical. I know how incredibly hurtful it is because after a very serious illness I lost a lot of hair and it was very thin with bald patches. It has grown back though it’s isn’t as it was before and I had really lovely thick hair.

I did invest in a really good wig it was about £250 and I bought it at a NHS approved supplier, the woman helped me try them on. It was fake hair and not real.

Whatever happens wishing you well.

She's a cockroach, tread on her.

Total arsehole comment. What a fuckwit.

That was a nasty comment. No need for it.
