Kids school workbooks

The bags they bring home from school at the end of the year.

Do you just recycle them? I am having a clear out and found quite of few of these bags. Seems mean to throw them but seriously don't need year 3 maths etc for sentimental value. Maybe just some art as a keepsake

What do you do with them?

Our school doesn't send them home. Instantly solves the problem! 😂

Take a photo of any "wow work." Or of first and last page of the year to show what they were doing or anything useful for future reference, then recycle.

I keep it all in folders.
I can have hoarder tendencies though.

I get cross that every year they send home a dozen exercise books, most of which are not even half full - beyond me why they can’t just have them the next year as well until they are used up, or have fewer to start with. Or use paper in binders, which would save the equally wasteful practice of gluing sheets in exercise books. There’s no doubt some tedious ofsted related reason but the sheer waste really annoys me.

I recycle them. No one needs their Y2 maths exercise book or Y1 spelling test book.

I normally kept them over Summer to see what DD was up to and to check the teacher's comments. We had some issues with her work and I had to go back to school several times in September to clarify stuff and make the new teacher aware of problems.

After that - recycled.

It was a parent doing this that meant books were no longer sent home...

I go through and take out pieces of work I think they would want to look back on and maybe show their own kids - like stories about holidays/families. And the rest goes into recycling.
