Yes, I am a twat.

Can anyone recommend a strong toner/blue mask to combat brassy orange hair after box dying it blonde from mousy brown?

I've tried wella toner t18, brass off blue mask, various purple shampoos. Nothing is touching it, it's a horrible brassy orange.

Halp pls.

Ha - you must have got as bored as I did today!. Felt like going a little bit lighter but it's just gone brassy.......

Depending on how orange it is you might need a second round of bleach before trying to tone it.

Not a mask but the best thing I've found is pureplex lightest ash blonde hair dye. You can hit from Amazon and Superdrug and if you look on both of these websites there's reviews with photos on so you can see the results for yourself. I've spent a fortune on toners and purple shampoo over the years but this is the only thing that takes away the dreaded orange tones.

Fanola no yellow (you might need no orange - but I haven’t used that!) or Fudge clean blonde both really good.

Fanola no orange.

Anything purple will not do anything.

Or you bleach it again to get lighter.

But then you risk damaged. Or you go back to brown. If you're doing that choose an ash toned brown.

Oh gosh I feel your pain, I did this last night! Did a bleach bath and hair went straw and orange! I have just toned it with dialight L’Oréal 10.21. Is much better is more ashy steel grey than I want and has a lilac tinge which I think will come out when I wash it again. Good luck.

I did the same a few weeks ago! I used the Jerome Russel silver toner and it did improve it to make it less yellow. I ended up just dying my hair with a dark ash blonde though as I’d done highlights and messed it up so it wasn’t just the colour that went wrong.

As a temporary solution Bleach London Fade to Grey isn't bad, this got me through a brassy ends disaster until I could get a hair appointment to sort it out. It deposits quite a lot of colour and really toned down the orangey ends.
