I'm just enjoying listening to the birds outside, while I finish my first cuppa. It's beautiful outside.

There's a load of washing to be done, and I think I'll do the towels too since they'll dry outside.

My plan for today is to spend a couple of hours tidying up the garden, & empty some old pots to maybe re-use. Hopefully the girls will be persuaded to help for a bit 🤔

Later on, I want to carry on my crochet & expect they'll vanish to watch other people play Minecraft & play it themselves. They bought a new book each yesterday though, so I won't be surprised if dd2 gets lost in hers for a few hours 📖

I'm making meatballs for tea, accompanied by a glass of wine for me 😋, and we'll probably wander to the shop for some sweets for later on - I need to get spuds and loo rolls anyway.

What about you lot? :)

The boys and DH are going to cycling club. I had thought I might go to the gym but I need to do some work - I will also pop out and get a paper and have a coffee. Then we are all going to my sister’s for a BBQ. Your day sounds lovely.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 16/04/2022 08:59

I'm thinking about going to the gym with my friend. Drum lesson later and except for that not got any other plans just pottering about sorting stuff in the house.

I am travelling with DD to go and pick up DS from a course he’s been on this week. Before we leave, I need to pack, hide Easter eggs for them to hunt when we get back on Monday, clean bathrooms, help DD with her biology homework, book taxis. I am still in bed and need to move Grin.

Going to town to day drink and have a lazy late tapas lunch.

Breathmiller · 16/04/2022 09:08

Just home last night after a few days away. Enjoying a coffee to myself before the troops all descend. Youngest is awake but playing in his room making stop motion movies apparently.

Holiday washing is done but hung up inside as it's a bit grey here today.

Got family friends coming for lunch for an afternoon of board games and chocolate.

Enjoy your Saturday everyone.

desiringonlychild2022 · 16/04/2022 09:12

Synagogue for Passover service, probably some shopping and then Passover dinner MIL.

Trying to decide if I should go to Guildford as I have time and dinner at MIL is starting at 9:30 pm... It would probably end at 4 am...

Imsittinginthekitchensink · 16/04/2022 09:17

Going into town for a bit to have a wander and DD wants some clothes. We are going to borough market first though as I want to pick up a few bits and a doughnut then onto Covent Garden. Home for GCSE revision (her) and gardening (me).

DressingPafe · 16/04/2022 09:19

Currently in bed with a coffee with a cat sprawled asleep on my legs! Will do some tidying up, then I have my kindle charged ready for reading in the garden. It’s a lovely day here today. I’ve been working really hard lately so this weekend is all about relaxation. I also have a new jigsaw to do.

TheNonsensePotter · 16/04/2022 09:20

Cleaning and gardening this morning, then out to the garden centre and the park this afternoon.

RussianSpy101 · 16/04/2022 09:24

Enjoying a nice coffee on the garden at the moment listening to the birds singing.
DD has singing and piano at 11-12.30 so I’ll do the food shop whilst she’s in and DH is taking the boys to the barbers.
This afternoon we’re having friends round for a bbq, they will probably stay while late.

ZenNudist · 16/04/2022 09:24

Currently packing car, travel to family, seeing elderly relative, possibly get a swim, whole family going out for a meal at tea time.

lightand · 16/04/2022 09:25

Going to a birthday.
I have 2 other close people with birthdays today too. Used to be a problem when one of them was younger.

RussianSpy101 · 16/04/2022 09:26

We were supposed to be in Legoland today but we discovered of one my car tyres has a screw in last night and no time to get one this morning as would’ve meant setting off too late so I’m in the small car today and DH is taking the boys in his smelly van 😐

Mydogisagentleman · 16/04/2022 09:34

I did consider taking my dog to the beach, however I have checked and a journey that would be 12 minutes would be over an hour so we will go to the woods.
After that, I need to buy a newspaper and some bits for our tea, meet DH in town to buy a jumper and finish packing.
Hopefully I will get the time to plant some grass seed on the baldy bits and repot a couple of plants

Eggsley · 16/04/2022 09:35

DH is away at the football all day with his dad, so it's just me, the DC and the dog.

We've got to go to the bank this morning for DS1 to pay some money in and then Tesco to get chicken for dinner. No other plans really, I want to get on with some cleaning and DS1 and DS2 will probably want to game all day. I might see if my friends is around for a catch up this afternoon, or take the DC to the park.

Chicken curry for dinner and hopefully watch a film. There will be wine for me.

Feeling very unsettled atm, a colleague lost his wife very suddenly and unexpectedly earlier in the week and they have two young children. I just can't comprehend it, how everything can change in the blink of an eye. So shocked and heartbroken for them.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 16/04/2022 09:36

I got new upgraded hearing aids last week so am sitting on the couch listening to all the new sounds I can hear! I can hear the clock ticking and it's really annoying 😂

Online shop coming soon DH will put that away. I'm debating cleaning the bathroom before I get a lovely morning bath.

Children have breakfast upstairs and are just pottering. Teens still in bed.

So just a pottering morning, get washing on the line etc. Possibly a quick walk in the woods later my toddler always needs a daily walk and fresh air and so do I tbh.

Slow cooked sausage casserole,.mash and calvero Nero for dinner can't wait!

drinkingwineoutofamug · 16/04/2022 09:38

Morning!
Washing and a bit of gardening is on the books , with a dash of food shop and dog walk into the mix.
I've just been chatting to friends in Bulgaria

lucysmam · 16/04/2022 09:49

@Plantsandpuddlesuits I can imagine that would be quite strange? We take these things for granted so often.

@Angelik (hope I've tagged the correct person there) I like these threads on a weekend morning while browsing the internet/listening to what's going on around me, with a cuppa :) I wish you a speedy (and not too frustrating!) recovery Thanks

It's lovely to see so many people with similar plans to get in their gardens & enjoy the sunshine while we have it 🌞

We are all relaxing in the house. Dh has gone off for a mammoth bike ride but the rest of us are all in our pjs.

I will probable tidy up a little soon and later myself and the 2 youngest dc will go for a long walk with ddog and end up someone nice for dinner.

I feel I should be filling the day up with lots of activities but I work hard and have a couple of days to chill. The children love a chill day too!

vodkaredbullgirl · 16/04/2022 10:21

Was hoping for a quiet Saturday morning, my neighbours have other ideas with their bloody music blasting.

MrsPear · 16/04/2022 10:24

@Plantsandpuddlesuits I will never forget when ds got upgraded aids and he asked what is that?! And it was the bus bell. He now has blue tooth and they are brilliant in his opinion.

Good morning all - got up 7 30 abd did morning chores now sitting in a very sunny park whilst the boys have football practice. Already been garage for milk and fresh bread. So picky lunch and pasta for tea.
Chilled afternoon in the garden I think.

NorthernPowermouse · 16/04/2022 10:27

DP and kids have gone out for a walk, I’m cleaning this morning (when I get off the sofa) then playing tennis this afternoon. Will be hiding Easter eggs later when kids are in bed.

Kenworthington · 16/04/2022 10:27

I am on say five of Covid and feeling rubbish but going to spend today on my sun lounger. Same as yesterday. If I have to rest I’m going to get a tan doing it!

EileenGC · 16/04/2022 10:35

I'm away with work in a beautiful little town in Southern Germany and we've had amazing weather all week, so I will make sure to be outside as much as possible this afternoon. This morning I walked to get my Covid tests done and it was sunny, birds chirping away, pond full of ducklings.

I'm not working with my team today, but do have some bits to prepare for tomorrow, I will be doing that after I watch my church's online service before lunch.

I have a work call at 9pm Sad after which I will join some colleagues for dinner. Most of the group leaves in the morning so I anticipate a fairly long evening, although I need to be in at 8.30am tomorrow and will be working constantly until 10pm or so... Might try to grab a nap in preparation for that!

CircusBaby · 16/04/2022 10:45

Covid here, tested positive last night. That's scuppered all our Easter plans. We were having family round tomorrow for a full roast and all the trimmings. So that's not happening. Kids are disappointed, as are family members who now have to make new plans at the last minute.

Currently drinking coffee and feeling a bit sorry for myself. Will perk up later no doubt and do some baking, try and salvage a bit of the Easter fun.
