Move to Lincoln

I've lived in a small city up North for a long time. I just can't make friends with anyone who is originally from here. I know it's not just me who has found this. I lived in quite a few different places and this is the only place where this has happened.

People are friendly enough to chat at bus stops or I can chat to neighbours but nothing beyond that.

An example is a work colleague I got on very well with kindly got me a card as I was moving home. I said to her that you'll have to come round sometime and have a look. That was just ignored. I guess my only option is to join Meet Up events but I'm not great in groups.

I'm thinking I might eventually move elsewhere where it would be cheaper to buy a property. Does anyone know what Lincoln is like for making friends? I am in my late 50s. Thanks

It would probably be near the city centre, not in a village.
