Without taking the wheels off. Any ideas please?

I don’t need any rear seats. I have a big old people carrier but it is unreliable now so looking for a replacement.

I assume theres a reason you dont want to use a tow bar and back rack? Much more convenient

Full adult size bike(s)?
Petrol Vauxhall Combo. 3 bikes no problems.
Ditto Touran, Galaxy.

thanksamillion · 14/04/2022 19:14

We have a Galaxy and I can get my son's adult sized mountain bike in without too much hassle. Pretty sure you could get another one in with it.

CMOTDibbler · 14/04/2022 19:15

Adult bikes, mountain or road? My CRV I could easily get two road bikes in the back, and I think two MTBs would be OK though I only tried one.
Road bikes, we could have got two in the Skoda Superb, but I think MTBs might have been tricky

Cherrysoup · 14/04/2022 19:16

Roof rack or bike rack would be loads easier.

Dandelionflower · 14/04/2022 19:18

I've managed a woman's bike and a large kids bike in a 5 door Corsa Grin Obviously needed the rear seats down and had to push the passenger seat forward a bit so you might not need as big a car that you think.

hoorayandupsherises · 14/04/2022 19:20

My Fiesta got two road bikes, an M and L, with the seats down by turning the handlebars so the front wheel slotted behind the front seats (did it four days a week for work), but wouldn't fit our L electric bike, so it depends a bit!

BarbaraofSeville · 14/04/2022 20:08

You could also use quick release skewers on your front wheels to easily remove the wheels so you aren't buying a car bigger than you otherwise would, just because of the bikes.

Shouldhavebutdidnt · 14/04/2022 20:10

Skoda octavia - back seats down & you would get in more than 2 no problem

Bagelsandbrie · 14/04/2022 20:11

We get our sons adult sized bike in the back of our kia Sportage with one side of the seats down (so still 3 of us in the car). I’m pretty confident we could get another one in.

Vauxhall insignia estate
Any of the bigger 7 seaters with a seat or 2 permanently removed
Land rover long wheel base
As it is really obviously better and easier with rear bike rack or roof bike rack an assuming there is a theft risk of similar from the racks

Cornishmumofone · 14/04/2022 20:27

I bought a Citroen Berlingo because I could fit two adult bikes, a bike trailer and a buggy in by taking out the middle seat.

ClarasZoo · 14/04/2022 20:43

Get a saris grand fondo bike rack- best rack ever!!!

A van works well. We love ours.

Thank you. Some to look at. I would prefer to put the bike inside if possible. Mine is a girly bike with a basket and husband has a fancy black lightweight one. My front wheel wont come off easily, expect his will though.
