Is anyone else waiting for Gallbladder surgery?

I'm currently waiting for gallbladder removal, just wondered if anyone else is?

I have my pre op next month, but no idea when the operation is!

Mine is giving me a lot pain most days now!

In theory, I am, but I haven't had any symptoms for around a year now.

I hope the pre-op goes well for you, and that you don't have to wait too long.

Thanks @AlexaShutUp I have been admitted twice in a year due to it, last time was last month where it was infected, had ultrasound yesterday! I can't wait for it to be out!

I am waiting too. Should be about June apparently. Had a bad attack a couple of days ago and am now the proud owner of a little stash of morphine for next time.

An infected gallbladder sounds awful.

Hope you both get sorted out very soon.

I was admitted 2 weeks ago, with stones and an infection. No idea how long the wait might be.

immy7853 · 15/04/2022 10:04

I hope the wait isn't too long @Greebosmum and @WhoWants2Know

I have 5 stones and it's infected, so hope after my pre op the wait isn't too bad.

It's horrible not knowing when the next attack is gonna be.

Can I ask what were your symptoms? Currently waiting to see doc again as they thought perhaps gallbladder attacks. The pains been horrendous at times, hope to get to the bottom of it! Good luck with your surgery when it comes!

immy7853 · 15/04/2022 10:56

@Candean my symptoms have been pain in my right upper abdomen area, normally sore most of the while then severe pain during attacks. Also being sick during a attack.

Mine cause pain right under my breastbone and through to my back. The pain always stopped after about 2 hours until the most recent time when after 5 hours I lost the plot, vomited constantly and had to be taken to A&E.

Please don’t have it done if you don’t need it. I have been left with BAM since mine. Basically sudden and constant diarrhea has ruined my life. It only happens to a relatively small percentage of people but you don’t want to be in that number!

@immy7853 @WhoWants2Know sounds very similar - becoming scared to eat anything now. Roll on the doctors appointment!
Greebosmum · 15/04/2022 21:21

Oh no. I am scared to eat too. Not having a jolly Easter here.

WhoWants2Know · 17/04/2022 12:11

It's so difficult with all the chocolate and nice food around. I keep thinking, surely just one won't hurt...
