What would you make for lunch?

Having a rare play date tomorrow. My seven year old is having a couple of girls from her class round to play. We don’t get to do this very often, just with work etc. I’m keen for it to go well and I’m probably overthinking it a bit.

I’m giving them lunch. I’m a bit stumped with what to make - we usually just have a quick sandwich or something but I feel like I need to make something quite nice. Any ideas welcome!

Pizza? (Shop bought or home-made)

Buy/make some pizza bases and get them to add toppings, so everybody gets what they like?

Great minds @BlueChampagne

It also gives them a little activity to do

I would do little picnic style - some sandwiches, scotch eggs, carrot sticks, fruit, little sausages, some crisps. Then there’s something for everyone

Pizza works well. You can have veggie sticks like carrots and cucumber, plus cherry Toms.

Have a pudding - maybe strawberries and ice cream, or some fairy cakes.

Keep it simple and just go for things most kids like. Pizza is usually a safe and easy bet.

They most probably will all like pizza but wise to check first. My 17yo has a couple of friends who, for some strange reason, don't like cheese!

And strawberries and or grapes are nearly always a winner.

This ! No need to worry 7 yr olds don't really pay attention to food.

We always get some treats that we don't normally have, like iced donuts or little cup cakes and some fruit
