Would you invite a stranger to use a spare ticket?

All very hypothetical and based on a dream I had last night

I'm going to a concert this weekend, very cheesy band from way back. It will be fun, if not quality

Anyway a couple of the group might not be able to go and I dreamt last night that I got chatting to some people at the bar in the pub beforehand and invited them to join us.

Then I wondered if I would actually do that in real life and what the likely reaction would be?

Yes I did that once. I offered the spare ticket on a local Facebook page and a lady met us there and used it. We had a good laugh!

I once gave a ticket to Hamilton to a girl who was at the box office asking were there any cancellations etc. I went to the theatre meaning to give it to someone. She was thrilled.
