I can't stand Ryan's world.... What is the worst thing your DC watch on TV?

Unfortunately the kids love Ryan's world, but I really hate it. My reasons for this are:

1. The videos are so annoying and the parents voices grate on my last nerve. The DD's are currently watching a video where Ryan is playing a 'game' of copying everything the Mum does, as though to encourage kids at home to do the same.
2. It's such a false depiction of family life where the parents and kids are always happy. If the parents could show themselves shouting at the kids for 10 minutes to put their shoes on or begging them to be quiet for a few minutes it would be so much more realistic...
3. On a more serious note, I think the parents have exploited Ryan just to make money out of him and sell Ryan's world merchandise. I'm not convinced it can do a kid good to be that famous a such a young age.

What's the most annoying this your DC watch?

The Tannerites. Not sure if that’s how it’s spelt. Just this vulgar family living in a mansion, with about 10 siblings, having SO MUCH FUN in their swimming pool and endless garden. Eww.
Our kids are banned from watching anything that isn’t a proper made for tv entertainment show or cartoon now.

I banned Ryan when my daughter asked why I can't be fun like Ryan's parents instead of working.

My sis in law comes over and puts those families on our youtube, the ones with parents that sound dumb as a rock but have huge houses and the kids play "pranks" on their parents where it's obvious all involved are "acting" poorly.

It's so vacuous and exhausting I banned her from putting them on my youtube. I don't mind Blippi as he does quite a bit of teaching.

The Tannerites...awful. My Dd has fortunately grown out of them now.

She has recently discovered 'Pup Academy' on Netflix (I think)...could live without that in my life...

Fortunately my DC have reasonable viewing choices now. But when they were little the two I hated most were:

• Kate and MimMim
• Baby Jake

They still occasionally threatened to put them on if I'm annoying them

His favourite is videos of fire engines around the world leaving the station, sirens blaring etc. drives me mad. I obviously turn the volume right down but they're just so pointless and I can't see what he gets from them.

Pocoyo is pretty annoying.

Rally car crashes, again so pointless.

Blippi isn't too annoying for me yet, he has learnt some stuff from him but Blippi says some stupid stuff sometimes too🤦‍♀️

Jelly, Jamesify, and other crap where much older teens are playing games. Endless American twangy voices oh wowing it, amazing it and driving me crazy. The sad face DS gives me when I ask him to watch something different, stops me banning them

Team Umizoomi. The boy character can build all sorts of cool things with his superpower. The girl can measure things with her pigtails and change the pattern on her dress

Paw Patrol. How does Ryder manage to pick the wrong pups for the job every single time, then always have to call for reinforcements halfway through? Surely he'd have got the hang of it by series ?6

Ronald & Karina - I think the worst episode was when the dad allowed one of the kids to drop their iPhone off their balcony (the game they were playing was designed for one of them to drop their phone) and smashed it then rewarded them by buying them the latest one. Excessive and spoilt they do what they like. My DD started ripping holes in her clothes to copy Karina - I banned them watching it then.

I've never heard of a lot of the programmes on this thread. It sounds like I've got years of TV hell ahead of me.

I don't actually know the names of the endless blur of Youtubers that ds watches now, the ones that drive me batshit are the shrieking ones.
They film themselves playing a Minecraft/Roblox etc game then give a running commentary.
Fine so far, but then instead of just speaking they yell and shriek in high pitched voices. It's bizarre.
They're banned on our downstairs tv now.

I have 4 year old twins and at the moment they're obsessed with watching slime videos and people opening Kinder Eggs on Youtube.

I don’t really understand the concept of shows like Ryans World. It’s like fake-reality TV for kids. My DD has never watched it and if she asked, I’d say no.

My son went through a big Vlad and Nikki phase that resulted in me spending a lot of money on hot wheels stuff. He couldn't understand why I couldn't just open a cupboard and have all of the hot wheels city bits sitting there like Vlad and Nikkis mum.

Completely agree about Ryan's World & his parents. Especially the mother's voice

I also despise A for Adley, Vlad & Nikki, Thumbs Up Family, NOOB Family, BigDadT, TAD The Merchant, JKrew Gaming, Daylin's Funhouse, Launa & LututuFilm 🤬 - Basically almost all the YouTube 'families'.

Constant shouting & screaming, not to mention the bloody bragging! It gives children a very unrealistic expectation.
To those who will cleverly ask me why I don't put my foot down and stop my DC watching them - you try telling an autistic child they can't do what they absolutely love 💥
