A food one - I know I'm being stupid but please reassure me!

Just basted a spatchcocked chicken and licked the spoon without thinking about it. It was about 12/13 mins before the end of the cooking time so had been in the hot oven about 45 mins. It looked pretty much cooked and there was only flavoured butter residue on the spoon really.

I know this sounds stupid but I have stomach issues and am very scared of food poisoning so am now panicking a bit.

Think I'll be OK?

It will be totally fine. I get the panic though as raw chicken is so strongly mentioned in food safety advice. But after that length of time everything on the outside will be fully cooked so nothing to worry about.

Thank you. I tipped some juices out of the inside to baste with which is worrying me but it was all really hot.

As long as the juices from the chicken were clear then still totally fine

Yeah I had a look at the juices and pretty sure they were clear.

They still would have been cooked enough - there’s not really an inside as such when it’s spatçhcocked, the juices will have been in direct contact with the very hot tray.
