Are fascinators still a thing?

I am in my fifties and will be going to my nieces wedding in the summer. I haven’t been to a wedding for ages. I know hats aren’t really worn now but are fascinators? I don’t want to be the fuddy duddy auntie who made all the wrong fashion choices!

I wouldn't wear one but I wouldn't care if someone else did.

It depends what sort of wedding. If it’s formal “morning suits” style then yes fascinators are still a thing, but I probably wouldn’t wear to a normal formal/semi formal wedding. However, I don’t think anyone would think you were a fuddy duddy if you had a lovely fascinator that you wanted to wear! I just wouldn’t go out and buy one for the occasion as it’s not necessary.

You could always ask some other women who are going to get the general vibe!

I went to a wedding last week and there were women there wearing them. So I would say so.

The ladies at Aintree last week were wearing fascinators

@ChairCareOh

They’re not still a thing but you’ll still see 60 year old aunties wearing them.
Oh! Perhaps I won’t then….

I found one I quite liked the look of online but my friend said I’d look like a cockerel 😂😂
