We are getting married in Late August. I have already ordered the actual invitations but I feel I need to add an information sheet with them?

Things I think should be on it:
Details of local accommodation
Invitees dietary needs

What else please?

Map? Gifts?

2022ttchope · 13/04/2022 15:10

Dress code, local taxi numbers if not everyone lives in the area

Could you have a wedding website? We've done this, just very simple invites with the most important bits, and then included details of how to find our website, which has all the rest on it. People can then send an RSVP with any information they need to give you. It was free to set up, and everyone has found it really easy to use

Kicking out time and taxi number so they can pre-book.

Ijustreallywantacat · 13/04/2022 15:12

We did very simple invites which linked to a website.

Contact details
Gifts
FAQ (dress code, taxi numbers etc)
RSVP
Timetable for day

I would recommend what ijustreallywantacat suggests

This just reminded me that when we got married we drew a simple map to include. I started to suggest that and realized it was ridiculous. It looked quite nice printed in brown ink on a pale pink cardstock. Positively quaint and old-fashioned now.

Thank you. I'd not heard of wedding websites.

Could you recommend one?

Thank you to everyone else. This is so helpful.

@Ponderingwindow
I was with you- drawing maps etc! 'Real' ones-not virtual!

We did one on wordpress, though a friend used ‘Zola’ which set it out quite well for you. WP can be tricky.

If the bar is cash only

itsneilthebaby · 13/04/2022 16:56

We used gettingmarried.co.uk. Very easy to set up and it was free

Thank you everyone. These are such good suggestions. Smile

Parking arrangements e.g. 'there's a car park at the church but if it's full try road parking on Main Road'. Helpful if youre not local. Gifts.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 13/04/2022 17:23

I'm sure you'll have this covered, but maybe include if kids are or aren't invited?

I've had a few over the years that never state this, only have DH and I on the invite but ask if we require a highchair. Not sure my arse would ever get out of a highchair if I tried to stick it in one...

FairyCakeWings · 13/04/2022 17:24

Tell people when they’re going to eat to help them know whether they need to eat before they come.

Moonflower12 · 13/04/2022 18:36

More good suggestions. Thank you 😊

My friend's wedding website had a short bio of the main people, bride, groom, bridesmaids, best man etc. I thought it was a nice touch although others may disagree!

toastofthetown · 13/04/2022 19:28

Our invitation (and most I've seen) had our names, the date, time and venue. We sent this out with an information card which had extra information such as directions and a link to the wedding website. I'd add a QR code if I were doing it again now. The website was where most guests RSVPed, order of the day, directions to venue, list of hotels and other useful information. The dietary needs were included in the RSVP section.

Thank you
I've 🤞🏻set up a website. I can't get part of it to show but have emailed technical support to hopefully sort it out!
