Accidentally paid for a Headspace subscription...please help me make the most of it?

So annoyed at myself...signed up for a free trial and forgot to cancel. Now I have a year's subscription Angry
However, I did create the account after having a particularly bad time - also made a GP appointment but I can't go for a few weeks, and l keep reading (with regards to anxiety, stress, menopausal issues) how meditative practices really help people.
So now I've got the damn thing can anyone else recommend some good habits/features on it, that won't take a long time every day. Taking time and being still like that is NOT a thing I'm good at...but I think that's part of my problem!

I really like the sleepcasts and always send me to sleep. I also quite liked the managing anxiety course.

I did that with Amazon Prime but because I didn't actually use it, when I realised they refunded me. Might be worth asking for cancellation and refund.

But maybe you could do with it

I use the calm app which is similar I find it brilliant.

I use the sleep stories, I do the meditations, have the nice relaxing music on for my son's bath time. I do try to do a 15 min mediation each day too

Just use it! You can do 3 minutes a day, anyone can manage that.

I did think about cancelling it, but I think I need it! Or at least I owe it to myself to try it.

The sleep casts are so good. Rainy day antiques is my fave!

ToooOldForThis · 13/04/2022 20:35

Thank you all! I will investigate it properly and give it a go. Sleep ones sound good as that's when I find myself getting uptight. Also 1st thing in the morning! I should spend 3 minutes listening to a headspace thing instead of lying there bricking myself about the day ahead

I LOVE headspace, really helped my sleep, think it’s well worth it.

Every night I listen to the Goodnight wind down for 5 minutes and then a sleep cast to help me drift off. My favourite voices for the sleep casts are Eve, Helen, Jo, and Simon. If I wake up in the night, even just for a wee, I put another one on. You can "favourite" ones you like best so they show up with a heart to make them easier to find.

The Wake Up can be quite good. There's a new one every morning. Sometimes there are lovely nature videos of things like baby elephants or a river in Alaska which are a relaxing start to the day 🙂

I find the sleepcasts work as well as any medication.
I also use the kids breathing exercises with some of the dc I work with.

Thank you all. I will spend some time investigating the app. Took ages to get to sleep last night with back to sleep dread setting in!

This happened to me and I did not make the most of it at all, but a friend raves about it so I was tempted to do the free trial again. Not sure about the sleep ones, I'd either keep DH awake or fall asleep wearing earphones (what do the rest of you do?) but could do a waking up one so long as I went downstairs to do it.
