Who's doing the spin for Keir Starmer?

I keep seeing comments to the effect that Boris or the Conservatives need to stay because there's no viable alternative , which seems ridiculous to me. On the other hand, despite being generally left leaning and interested enough to skim the news daily and listen to The Today Programme Grin I really know very little about him, what he stands for or what his policies are.

Surely "someone" should be getting this out there? On the face of it he should be electable; presentable, a genuine working class success story, well educated, speaks well etc etc, but it doesn't "feel" like he is. Whose job is it to change that and why are they doing so badly at it?

Always good practice to be aware of your opposite number.

He doesn't want to be PM. He's quite happy doing what he's doing. No passion or drive. A bland grey man. He doesn't care about improving things for ordinary people, why should he?

Our media is very anti-labour. It's incredibly influential. I have no doubt the labour media team are working flat out and I think they are making inroads with profile. (Although some very poor own goals)

Many people are quite naive about how influential the media are in this country. The bbc especially have not been impartial for a long time (despite what the tories say).

It's quite dark times we are living in.

If that's the case, that's exactly what I mean. It must be someone's job to change that?

Nobody can change it, he's the elected leader of the party. There'd have to be a challenge to his leadership in order to replace him.

No amount of spin is going to get this man elected. He literally has no personality. He's like an empty vessel, devoid of any opinions or character whatsoever. They need to check for a battery compartment. I often wonder what he'd do if he accidentally sat on a thistle. Would he even notice?

He cannot be any worse than boris. Every time his lips move a lie falls out. Need to give someone else a chance.

The stuttering and spluttering around such questions as 'what is a woman', the knots of batshittery he is tying himself into to try and toe the line of gender ideology, the complete failure to come up with a decent set of policies and say 'this is what we stand for, if this is what you want then vote for us' - it actually takes some effort to bollocks this up as much as he is!

RoseAndRose · 12/04/2022 18:42

The trouble for me is that I don't know what the Labour Party stands for.

I agree^^

You can polish a turd. Cover it in glitter and sparkles.

It's still a turd underneath.

No amount of spin could ever make him a viable option.

Exactly this is what I mean. Starmer or Labour, someone must be responsible.for getting the message out. People may or may not like it (or Starmer himself) but ATM there's nothing at all to base that on.
